Some people have a penchant for engaging prose. James Lileks does it again. It doesn't hurt that I had some interactions with Tim Smucker a few years ago and managed to snack on some of the prototype Uncrustables Lileks features. They are pretty tasty, and the intent is for you to put them in the lunch bag so they'll thaw out by lunchtime.
Ever wanted your favorite real-time strategy computer game to have wrap-around map edges? If so, have you ever tried to play chess on a Torus? Here are some very mind-bending topology games that will make your head swim. Torus Games. Thursday, January 30, 2003
Corporate blogging? Other companies are trying to bring blogging to the business world in a more practical way. Userland Software, the company behind Radio, a popular weblog publishing tool, has been trying to sell blogging to businesses. Over the past year, Userland president John Robb has talked about the k-log, a weblog used within a company to manage knowledge. The idea is that blogs can help a business present information and develop new ideas. They can bring out and spread the expertise within a company. Monday, January 27, 2003
An amazing java clock. I linked this from someone's blog, but for the life of me I cannot remember who it was.
UPDATE: Aha! It was from here: Alas, a Blog
Lileks has a hilarious take on the Super Bowl Ads. Discussing Cadillac's ads and crappy new line of cars ...the passenger glimpses the future of Cadillac, which sucks. Led Zep’s “Rock and Roll” introduces us to the next model of Caddy, which looks like an Aztek that had an elephant dropped on it.And on mLife: Once again: no idea what mLife is, except that it seems to involve small, portable phones. Perhaps they think we’ll sign on out of curiosity and pay more money every month, hoping for the secret of mLife to be revealed. Great: the telephonic equivalent of Scientology.
This should funny. Dave Barry has a blog. (via InstaPundit). Of course, he's always had a funny website.
Congrats to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for winning the Super Bowl. I was rooting for them, even though I am not a fan. The Gruden triumphant over old team storyline was too good to not be true. My favorite ads were FedEx Desert Island, Reebok's Terry Tate: Office Linebacker, and the Anheuser-Busch Clown suit.
If you missed it from the Super Bowl, here is the newest Matrix: Reloaded trailer. It looks pretty sweet! |
